MEDICATION USED FOR 

Ketoconazole topical is an antifungal medication that prevents fungus from growing on your skin. Ketoconazole topical is used to treat fungal infections of the skin such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and seborrhea (dry, flaking skin). Ketoconazole topical is available as a cream, gel, and as a shampoo. Ketoconazole is used to treat skin infections such as athelet`s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and certain kinds of dandruff. This medicationis also used to treat a skin condition known as pityriasis ( tinea versicolor), a fungal infection   that causes a lightening or darkening of the  skin  of the neck, chest, arms, or legs. Ketoconazole is an azole antifungal that works by preventing the growth of fungus.

INDICATIONS

For the treatment of chromomycosis in patients who have failed or who are intolerant to other therapies.

For the treatment of coccidioidomycosis, histoplasmosis, and paracoccidioidomycosis in patients who have failed or who are intolerant to other therapies.

For treatment of mucocutaneous candidiasis.

For the treatment of dandruff, to control flaking, scaling, or itching.

For the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis.

For the treatment of tinea corporis or tinea cruris.

For the treatment of tinea pedis.

For the treatment of tinea versicolor

For the treatment of advanced prostate cancer.
